Use Stiffed to settle the check, not a constitutional crisis over mozzarella sticks.
Using Stiffed
Stiffed gives you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the app for lawful restaurant check splitting. You may not reverse engineer, resell, disrupt, or use the app to violate another person’s rights.
Check the check
Receipt recognition and calculations can be affected by image quality, unusual receipt formats, edits, or incorrect inputs. Review scanned lines, prices, tax, tip, assignments, totals, and payment recipients before relying on or sharing them. You remain responsible for the amounts you request or pay.
Payments between people
Stiffed prepares totals and payment instructions. It does not hold money, initiate transfers, confirm payment, collect debts, or act as a bank or money transmitter. Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, banks, and other payment services are independent third parties with their own terms. Stiffed is not sponsored by or affiliated with them.
Free app and optional website support
Stiffed has no subscription or in-app purchase. A voluntary contribution made through a third-party service supports development and does not unlock features or create a service entitlement. The payment service handles that contribution under its own terms.
Availability and changes
Stiffed may change, add, or retire features as the app improves. The service is provided on an “as available” basis without a promise that receipt recognition or every third-party service will always work. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.
Responsibility
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Stiffed is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from incorrect inputs, receipt recognition, shared payment details, third-party payment services, or unavailable features. If local law does not allow a limitation here, that limitation does not apply to you.
Ending use and changes to these terms
You can stop using Stiffed and delete its local data at any time. Material changes to these terms will appear here with a new effective date. Continued use after an updated version becomes effective means you accept the revised terms.
